The Epic of Gilgamesh Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
The Epic of Gilgamesh - Assignment Example There is always a kind of terror from being at the mercy of the whims of a person who may not always act rationally or for the best interests of those whose lives they have control over. Certainly in the case of Gilgamesh to the very notion of the existence of Enkidu has premised on Gilgamesh the flawed human and part god acted in ways that made his subjects suffer. It is in this kind of backdrop that the fears of Enkidu relating to death are founded. Thehas premise decreed that he must die, and there is no arguing with the gods once they have decided that he must die. This notwithstanding the fact that it was Gilgamesh after all who did the killings, and it was Enkidu who did warn Gilgamesh against going through with killing Humbaba. No, all these mitigating circumstances did not matter. What mattered to the gods was that someone should die and that in this case, they chose Enkidu to pay for the lives of the Bull of Heaven and of Humbaba (ââ¬Å"The Epic of Gilgameshâ⬠; Brown; SparkNotes; Annenberg Foundation; Hooker). This whimsical nature of the ways of the gods and of the way they arrived at Enkiduââ¬â¢s death sentence, however, is not the primary reason why Enkidu feared death. Sure he was bitter to the point of even regretting having crossed paths with the people who ultimately led him to his encounter and friendship with Gilgamesh, but this bitterness is something that is separate from what made him fearful about death. He was fearful of passing away primarily because of the visions that he had of death, grim and full of dark foreboding, and the opposite of the happiest days that he had known on earth. He feared death first and foremost because it was the end of all that he had lived for, and the beginning of what could be described as an eternal harrowing experience in a world that is bleak and devoid of sunshine, dark, a world of dust, as he described in the vision that he shared of life after death. The vision of death and what it was like cam e to him in a dream, that he shared to his friend Gilgamesh.
O rubor sanguinis by Hildegarde of Bingen Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
O rubor sanguinis by Hildegarde of Bingen - Essay Example This isà anotherà historical love masterpiece adapted from a poem written by the same artist. The song makes use of a number of artistic features of composition to create a rhythm to the song key among which include rhymes. The artist carefully selects words that sound similar in structuring the sentences in the song. The song is thus a composition of proses that are all rhythmic. This fuses seamlessly with the scanty beats of the time and even though the quality of production is low, the song remains a French masterpiece among lovers of music and history. Love is the oldest topic on which artists have composed lyrics and this old song attest to the same allusions (Langol, Lee, Thomas and Floyd 41).Ave Maria,â⬠Josquin Desprez (France, 1455-1521) By the time of its production, many artists had taken to the trade and music was fast evolving. Josqui Desprez thus used a number of features in the song to ensure that it remained relevant to the society thousands of years after his death. The poor spelling and the different pronunciation of some of the French words portray just how old the song is. The song further employs the common features of the arts to develop rhymes and other forms of rhythms (Burgess 12). The artist uses beats sparingly which implies that the lyrics had an effective flow of rhythm. Furthermore, the artist had an advanced production skills and archiving tools, this retained the quality of his songs despite his long journeys throughout the European continent.à Pope Marcellus Mass,â⬠Palestrina (Italy, 1525-1594)

They have to rely on other suppliers, which can give assured and quality supply consistently. â⬠¢ Replacement of the parts is a huge and lucrative market. (The Industry Handbook: Automobiles) Current Economic Scenario World demand of the cars is now coming from the rapidly growing developing economies. The countries like China, India, and Brazil are growing at the average rate of 7-8 percent. China is registering even double digit growth rate for last several years. Such a high rate of growth creates a huge demand for automobiles in those markets. Automobile market is now driven through these new markets while the demand in the old traditional market of U.S. and Europe is more or less stagnating. (The Wall Street Journal- Auto Sales 2010) It will be pertinent to note that in 1960, companies like GM, Ford, and Chrysler sold almost 90% of the cars in the US market; currently their market share is about 47%. It can be deduced that most cars that Americans bought were not manufactured by the big three. (Manzi 2008)

For example, the establishment of the United Nations was meant for all countries to cooperate for mutual gain with each other. Liberalism believes humans have a mutual bond that they can draw on to identify with and forge ties with people around the world. Realism sees that international politics is moved by an ever competitive agenda of self-interest among nations. Realists believe that the decisive dynamic among countries is a struggle for power in an effort by each to preserve or, preferably, improve its military security and economic welfare in competition with other countries (Rourke & Boyer 16). Realism views human beings as naturally divided by a form of national allegiance to their nation or to another focus of national identity such as cultural heritage or religious beliefs. A good example is Chancellor Otto von Bismarcksââ¬â¢s unification of Germany during the 19th century. Bismarck unified the once shattered German nations not for the sake of the spirit of unity, but to form a single and powerful imperial nation as a great power in Western
